Mid South Audio was founded in 1989 in Georgetown, Del., by Sussex County native Kevin Short, who wanted a full-service event production company and recording studio. It was an expansion of an audio installation company that began in 1983.

In the beginning, MSA offered sound services to small local events and bands. The studio was a 16-track analog facility. Today, MSA provides production services for large-scale national acts from New Hampshire to Florida, as far west as Texas, and continues to provide event production services to local events and bands. The studio now is a state-of-the-art digital facility that has recorded Grammy Award-winning artists and local musicians. MSA installs only audio gear, video and lighting.

Lighting

In 2006, Mid South Audio branched into the lighting business by acquiring three existing companies. The goal was to offer our clients the professional lighting services that they have grown accustomed to from our audio services. In 2013, we expanded our lighting inventory with the purchase of more than 70 intelligent-lighting fixtures.

From its beginnings as a small sound company, MSA has believed in making exceptional sound and images available to the public at an affordable rate. Since 1989, we have expanded into a multifaceted entertainment business and continue to offer cost-efficient professional quality audio, lighting and production services.
